Teaching Assistant – Part-Time

We are seeking a dedicated and caring teaching assistant to work in year 5 from January 2020. This role is 1:1 in class during the morning and leading small group interventions during the afternoons.  Ideally the successful candidate should have experience of working with children with Autism. The position includes 30 minutes daily lunch duty. 

The ideal candidate should have a good level of spoken and written English and maths. 

The hours are four full days (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri)  from 8.45am to 3.05pm. This is initially a temporary contract until the end of the summer term with the possibility of continuing in September. The post will be term time only.

The actual salary range is between £9,469 and £10,154 per annum.

Qualifications / Education
  • Good level of numeracy 
  • Good levels of spoken and written English
Duties and responsibilities 
  • To support children with learning as directed by the class teacher
  • To follow targets for SEN children as detailed in their SEND support plan
  • To follow advice from professionals such as an educational psychologist as applicable 
  • Assist in carrying out assessments and recording results as directed 
  • Be responsible for keeping and updating records as agreed 
  • Provide regular feedback to class teachers and SENCO regarding progress
  • Assisting in preparation and adaptation of teaching materials 
  • Provide feedback to children in relation to progress, achievement and next steps
  • To follow the school policies and procedures 
  • To maintain confidentiality
  • Supporting any aspect of school life as directed by the SENCO or Headteacher
  • To contribute to the overall ethos of the school
  • To attend relevant staff development training

The successful candidate should preferably, but not essential, have experience supporting children in within KS2. The position includes 30 minutes daily lunch duty.

The ideal candidate should have a good level of spoken and written English and maths. 

The hours are two full days from 8.45am to 3.05pm and three half days from 8.45am to 1pm.  This is a temporary contract until the end of the summer term with the possibility of a further role in September. The post will be term time only. The starting date is as soon as possible. 

The actual salary range will be £9,909 to £10,626 per annum.

EYFS Practitioner

Starting January 2020

We are looking for enthusiastic early years practitioners to join our team from January 2020 (or earlier). The successful applicant(s) will take a shared responsibility for the welfare, learning and development of a group of children within the Nursery, working with initiative and creativity to foster an environment that encourages the children’s all round development.

Ideally, you will have practical knowledge of planning experiences that meet the requirements of the EYFS Statutory Framework and a commitment to ongoing professional development. You will demonstrate good interpersonal skills together with an ability to be a supportive member of our team, with the potential to work across the EYFS settings in our school.

The post will be for 32.5 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks per year) – 8.30 to 15.30 each day excluding lunch break; the salary range is £18,698 – £20,653 (pro rata) depending on experience and qualifications; the actual salary range is £14,242 – £16,013.

A recognised Level 3 qualification in childcare and education is desirable.

Lollipop Person Needed

Help needed – could you help by being a lollipop person for the school community?

From May we will need help with the morning crossing patrol, assisting children and parents of St Joseph’s Catholic Primary school to cross the Aldershot road in Guildford outside the school.

If you can help fill this important role for the school and its community, or you know of someone who can help please contact the school office on 01483 888401.

You would need to be there each morning from 8.20 am to 9.00 am, term time (38 weeks) only, the pay is between £108 to £110 per calendar month

You will be working predominantly on your own on the highway and in all weathers, and full training and uniform will be provided.

This position will require an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

School Lunchtime Supervisors Needed

We are looking for people to join our friendly team at lunchtimes.  You will need to be caring and approachable and enjoy working with children.  The post holder will work as part of a team in securing the safety and welfare of students during the lunchtime period.  The job will involve effective supervision of students both in the dining hall and around the school.

The post will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring check

Up to five days a week (38 wks per year) one and a half hours a day, starting at 11.45.

Pay £229.00 per month.
